Bot Butterfly: Red Wing to steal personal and financial data

After two years of collaboration with the Slovenian police and the English Civil Guard, the U.S. FBI announced Wednesday the arrest of a man accused of creating the network Mariposa to steal personal data and banking around the world, according to EFE.

This computer network is one of the most advanced in the world and uses a computer virus known as Butterfly Bot that allows you to remotely steal users' private data, such as banking passwords, and launch attacks on large companies and financial institutions.

Slovenian police identified and arrested last week a young man of that nationality than 23 years, known as Iserdo by the alias he used on the Internet. He is suspected of having created the network, which the FBI could have affected 8 to 12 million computers worldwide.

"Zombies"

According to research, between 2008 and 2010 Iserdo created and sold the program to other international criminals who in turn developed other networks of infected computers, or zombies controlled remotely without the user knowing. In addition, the Slovenian citizen is accused of developing several custom versions for specific customers.

The FBI said the work of Slovenian and English authorities to dismantle this network.
